Today the 10th Anniversary Session of the World Public Forum (WPF) Dialogue of Civilizations finishes its work on the Greek island of Rhodes (Greece). The Forum aims at creating, developing and promoting the culture of dialogue, as well as introducing the spirit of cooperation and understanding into the everyday life of people from different civilizations. The Musical Olympus Foundation organized “Welcome” musical festival within the framework of the Forum.
On October 14, 2012 the traditional concert and presentation of the Musical Olympus International Festival participants will take place in Zurich (Switzerland), one of the world’s cultural and music capitals.
On September 18 and 21 the Musical Olympus Festival participants visited Baku to perform at the Big Concert Hall of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic with the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra. On September 20 they also gave a concert at the International Center of Mugham as part of the IV Uzeyir Hajibeyov International Music Festival. The concerts were attended by approximately 1500 classic music lovers.
The Musical Olympus Foundation continues to reveal new names for the Russian audience. Russian music lovers could only get to know the work of these talented and extraordinary musicians on the internet before. On September 16 the St. Petersburg Music Hall hosted a concert of the inimitable Spanish singer Buika and the unique Senegalese musician Cheikh Lo.
On September 14 outstanding pianist András Schiff gave a concert at the St. Petersburg state philharmonic hall named after D.D. Shostakovich. This was the fourth visit of the Hungarian master to Russia over the last years. As in previous times, Russian concerts of András Schiff were organized by the Musical Olympus Foundation
Participants of the International Musical Olympus festival (St. Petersburg) have had a debut performance in France. Concerts of young musicians were held in Rennes, Brittany’s capital city, at the Centre culturel le Triangle and the Cour de la Banque Populaire de l'Ouest concert stages on August, 27-28 and September, 1. The performances took place within the frameworks of the annual summer music festival held under the auspices of the Brittany Symphony Orchestra.
